Rome the Eternal City

Rome a relatively small but well-known and visited city makes me wonder what is it about this city that makes it so attractive not only for couples but for all the tourists? Currently the Coliseum along with the Vatican, are the biggest tourist attraction in Rome each year 6 million tourists visit it. Few of its many features that turn this city so tourist are his historical sites and its typical and artisanal food.

Rome has one of the richest collections of art treasures and historic buildings in the world, some examples are the Roman Colosseum that was built for the games where gladiators fought to death, the Vatican, the Basilica of St. Peter and the Sistine Chapel with a painted wall with the theme of the final judgment and the ceiling wall masterfully painted by Michelangelo. These places are the most prominent among many others that are in Rome. Has also been a major filmmaking center, publications and especially tourism.

The gastronomic side of this city has some delicious dishes, the difference between the food from others places is the way it is prepared because most of the Roman food is made by hand with purely natural products, this is without conservative and without being previously cooked or prepared. The typical dishes are Spaghetti Cacio rome e pepe done simply with oil, Roman Pecorino and freshly ground pepper and  Roman Supplì alla a kind of croquette stuffed with cooked rice , tomato , meat and mozzarella cheese.

For these reasons rome is a very attractive place for me and certainly I will visit it in a not too far future , it seems to have a very interesting history and I would like to know their traditions and customs. Like Petrarch says " A fool is one who admires other cities without seeing Rome."
